I am still tweaking my theme. Someday I will have it just the way I want it. Until then, I will just look at the wife’s blog and be jealous.

When we were building our new home six years ago I was hoping that putting in a whole home distributed audio system would satisfy my need to have music throughout the house. Unfortunately, our “custom” builder would only allow their guy to install such a system. I knew that I was in for a challenge when at our meeting with him at the house to discuss the installation all he could talk about was how he plays in a band and how loud they are. I think that only 5% of what came out of his mouth was relevant to our discussion.

After I was able to bring him down to reality I started to inquire about cable types and locations. Clueless is the only word I can think of to describe him. To this day I can still here a florescent light turned on in the other side of the house in the master bedroom. I guess he has never heard of EMI (electromagnetic effects). Then we started to discuss hardware and controller locations. Not much flexibility there I can tell you. My choices were a four zone or six zone Thru-Channel amp. Soon after the installation was finished the problems began.

What can be done with corrupt FLAC audio files? I received a bunch of FLAC files from a friend and have been attempting to convert them back to MP3. However, there in lies the catch. It appears that 50% of the files are corrupt. The error that is being kicked out is that they are out of synch. Is it possible to repair these files?

I guess I will continue to search online for such a tool.

I have been working on my MCE 2005 machine for a couple of years now. Every couple of months I try a new plug-in or add on to see if I like it and if it functions properly. It has been fun and I have only found a couple of small issues (headaches) that these plug-ins have caused.

An example of this is a good weather or sports plug-in. I have to uninstall the two that I currently have loaded up because of nag
screens or it is just unreadable. Of course, if I could locate a plug-in or separate software package that would allow me to stream media files to my D-Link DSM 320 and / or give me remote access to my media files I would be a very happy camper.

Do you know of any?

I have finally got my hobby blog up and running.  Now I will be able to talk about what I have going on and vent every now and again.

There will be some tweaking going on here for some time.  Getting the look I want and making sure that all the plug-ins will be undercontruction.
